Lighthouse Brewing Company

It’s true that Victoria residents are fond of their craft beer. In fact, this city currently has 12 brewpubs and breweries, with new ones popping up now and again. Not only are Victoria’s residents fond of craft beer, but they are also fond of discovering how and where it is made. In addition, companies that use environmentally sustainable practices tend to be looked at with greater favour, since Victoria is also very environmentally conscious. The Lighthouse Brewing Company has all of these things going for it— it produces quality brews using sustainable practices, and it seeks to educate people about the craft of brewing by offering tours. Although it is possible to book a multi-brewery tour that includes the Lighthouse Brewing Company, through the West Coast Brewery Tour, you can also arrange private tours by simply calling them or booking through their website.

Alongside Race Rocks Amber, today’s Lighthouse Brewing Company product line-up has expanded to include: Jackline Rhubarb Grisette, Keeper’s Stout, Numbskull Imperial IPA, Pacific Sunset Belgo-American Mild, Seaport Vanilla Stout, Shipwreck IPA, Bowling Pilsner, Beacon Extra Special Bitter, Tasman Pale Ale, Company Lager and Broadside Northwest Ale.

Lighthouse Brewing Company: A Socially-Minded Brewer

While it’s a fact that the Lighthouse Brewing Company has worked hard to establish and maintain a reputation as a producer of quality refreshments, it is also true that they do so with an eye toward being as environmentally and social responsible as possible. To begin with, the beers produced by this company are all natural and are produced in a way that satisfies the company’s commitment to using sustainable brewing practices, ensuring the best possible flavour and quality, while minimizing their impact on the environment. In addition, all of the by-products that result from the brewing process are recycled by being distributed to local organic farmers, who then use the grain to either feed their livestock or help fertilize the soil as part of their compost. By recycling the brewing by-product in this way, the Lighthouse Brewing Company helps keep their waste out of the landfills, and helps local farmers tend their farms and livestock in a way that is natural and cost-effective.

Here in Victoria, people favour craft brewing companies that not only deliver a good quality product, but also do so in a way that is environmentally and socially sound, and that helps educate people about what goes into making the brews they are so fond of.  The Lighthouse Brewing Company, a company that has produced top-quality refreshments in a responsible way since 1998, does just that.
