Sidney Pier

The Sidney Pier is a waterfront walkway that takes you along the oceanfront and is approximately 2.5 km long. There are plenty of benches and picnic tables, and magnificent gardens along the way where one can relax, enjoy a bite to eat and take in spectacular views of Mount Baker, Sidney Island, and so much more.

Along the way you can visit a number of attractions such as:

  • Port Sidney Marina – With 13,494 feet of lineal dock space and the ability to accommodate boats up to 138 feet, the marina routinely sees boaters from all across North America. They offer annual, monthly, and transient moorage.
  • Beacon Park  – One can view the many examples of public art and brick walkways perfect for a leisurely stroll and take in the breathtaking waterfront scenery.
  • Diver’s Beach – Explore wrecks such as, HMCS Mackenzie, and GB Church. This is a must for all divers and Vancouver Island has been ranked as one of the best cold-water diving locations in the world.

With recent upgrades along the entire Lochside Drive walkway, visitors will appreciate ample parking that is just a short walk to the beach. Enjoy a picnic lunch while you watch harbour seals, bald eagles, and California sea lions in their natural habitat.
