West Shawnigan Lake Provincial Park

West Shawnigan Lake Provincial Park is a day-use park with access to Lakeside Beach along the northwest shore of Shawnigan Lake. Whether your interest is paddling, fishing for trout, or swimming and picnicking for the day, this provincial park offers it all.  Stepping just outside of the Park, Shawnigan Lake is a popular spot for waterskiing, boating, and windsurfing and the calm waters of the lake are ideal for canoeing or kayaking.

Activities and facilities available at West Shawnigan Lake Provincial Park include:

  • Picnic Areas – The sandy shores along the northwest of the lake are equipped with picnic tables, a change house, grassy areas for relaxing, and pit toilets
  • Windsurfing – Is only permitted outside the boundaries of the provincial park
  • Pets – Pets must be on a leash at all times and are not allowed in the park buildings or in the beach areas
  • Swimming – Although there are no lifeguards, safe swimming areas are outlined by floats
  • Fishing – The lake is very popular with anglers and is well stocked with trout
